This year has been good to me, and I’m grateful for that. I have been academically successful. My career is moving forward at a rapid phase. I’m also doing work as a freelancer, running my own small scale company. The biggest news to you might be that I’m moving to Japan next month.
I’ve read more than 100 books this year. I’m not sure what the number is exactly, but it’s over 100, of that I’m sure. I learned so much from some of the books I’ve read, that it inspired me to start this blog. To talk about what I deem to be important works of literature. I’ve really enjoyed this process, and the positive feedback I’ve been getting.
However, as I m preparing to depart from my home country, I’m also starting to realize my time is limited. While I’m in Japan I’ll be studying in 2 universities at the same time, working as a freelancer, trying to make connections while also trying to read books and write about them on this blog. I’m in the process of writing a novel at the moment, but I don’t devote too much time to it at this moment. I also exercise quite a bit.
What I’m trying to say is, I don’t think I have the time to do everything I want, and I think I need to change the way I produce content for my blog.
This is the plan moving forward:
Goal of this blog ultimately is to share good ideas and experiences, and this will not change. What will have to change is what I write about. I don’t think I can devote as much time as I want to read and review books, but I’ll do it as often as I can.
Instead, I’ll move to talking about what’s happening in my life, what I’ve experienced and where I’ve been. Hopefully with pictures. I have a pretty good camera now, so I should be able to document what I do better. I’m also thinking about the idea of vlogging on top of my blogging content.
What does the content look like then? Well, I’m going to Japan, and it’s a new experience for me, so I’ll obviously feel the need to share what I’ve seen there. We’ll see what that’s going to be, but I’m sure it’ll be great. Other thing that I’m interested in are business events. I actually go to free business events almost weekly to meet new people, and I’m sure some of you would find this kind of discussions interesting as well. Once again, I’m not sure what kind of events are available to me in Japan, but I’ll see about it then. I want to stay active, and that itself works as a good motivator. There will always be something to talk about.
Overall, there will be less book reviews, and more real life “updates” in the future. Hopefully this prepares you for the future content. There is a chance the new content is actually better than what I’m producing right now, or at least it’ll feel more personal (and professional) to me. We’ll see what happens.
Let me know if you are interested in something specific, and I’ll try to make it happen. For now I wish you a good rest of the week.
