Jordan B Peterson rose to popularity in 2016 when he started speaking out against the then new law in Canada Bill C-16. He was then part of viral video that got him some notoriety and fame. Ever since then he has been rising in popularity, and we’ve (the people who have since started following him) have begun to know more about him over the years.
Jordan B Peterson is a teacher, he has a Ph.D. in psychology. He uploads some of his videos online on his YouTube channel . Listening to his lectures has given me new perspectives on life, how to approach it, and what I really want to do with mine. I recommend you at least give one of his lectures a listen before reading this book.
To me, Peterson is as influential as late the Christopher Hitchens was, and of course Hitchens has been a very important figure in my life when it comes to what I want to do, and what I want to become. Peterson, on the other hand, is the person that has been helping me get there. So, of course I had to read his book.
Currently his book is #1 best seller in the US, and also internationally on Amazon. There is a very good reason for it, well, many reasons. My goal isn’t to spoil anything in the book for you, but I’ll tell you that it’s a well written book, and it will probably help you steer your life’s ship into a better direction.
The book is about life, and how to crack at it successfully. After reading this book I feel more likely to accept myself as a person, and I think less about what others think about me, and more about how I should act to make my life worth living. I think, and this is my opinion, this book is meant to make you respect yourself more, to help you take care of yourself, and in doing so, help you see the world in a better light. Peterson wants you to first tackle your own problems, and make you want to help yourself, and for you to become a better person.
I learned that kindness goes a long way in life, more than I had even considered, and it all should start from you being kind to yourself.
There’s nothing else I will say about this book. Is it worth your time? Should you read it? Absolutely. There’s no doubt in my mind that you will come out of the experience having learned at least something new about yourself.
